Banquet Community,
De Colores! Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you, to all of you who have helped out in any way to make this season a success. It doesn’t happen without you. I would also like to thank the team members who sacrificed for the Monday night meetings and the weekend in itself. It’s because of you all that we make this work. I am so proud of the Body of Christ coming together for the community.
I got to experience and hear about some great things going on in the ministry, both church and prison. I briefly want to share this from Vienna Correctional Complex. Last year Opie and I had a young man at our table that we made great strides with on his journey. He came in a bit reserved but did share with me things that had happened in his life and his predicament. It was overall a great weekend for him as he began to apply the tools we laid before him. Part of it was trusting God’s plan, trusting us, and forgiving his father for things that transpired in his life. To make a long story short. He let go of some things on that weekend and began his walk by rededicating his life. So, fast forward to 2019 when we got to the Chapel to prepare for the arrival of the guest. Their Chaplin came in an asked for our attention. He introduced this young man as, and I quote, “I want to introduce someone to you all, He’s a man on fire for God and my Assistant, ______________. Guys, when I saw this kid’s smile, he saw me and the Holy Spirit within me, began to dance and shout. It was like a Hallmark moment! This was confirmation for me, that we are called out of the darkness into His marvelous light and to share with others His love and goodness. I want to inspire you to continue the good fight and plant those seeds of righteousness. We may not always see those seeds come into fruition but remember someone planted for us and look where we are now. God Bless us!
Sincerely,
Your Brother in Christ
